| Alternanthera - Purple Knight |
HOW IT GROWS IN MY GARDEN
Alternantheras can be great accent plants and 'Purple Knight' is no
exception. This plant with the dark purple burgundy foliage draws your
eye into the garden. It is very easy to grow and will get bushy by the
end of the summer. This year I trimmed it up a bit in August because it
was getting a little too wide for the space. I normally grow this plant in
full sun, but this year it ended up in a spot in my garden that was in
shade after about 4 pm each day. It grew wider than taller, but still
looked nice. I also use this plant in the center of a large container. It
gives the container a great look and only occasional trimming is needed.
