I use this Alternanthera mostly as a container plant. I love the
way it cascades down the side of a container. I can't
remember If I have ever planted this Alternanthera directly in
the garden, but that is usually because I sell out of this plant
before I have time to do my own planting. I would not plant
this Alternanthera in the ground where pets would run
through the garden and step on the plant. It is a little more
brittle than other plants. It does well in partial shade or full
sun.
